Stealing others power

Voter intimidation is legitimate democratic strategy for Republicans. Call one of the above numbers if you have a problem.

Recently posted about information wars, and that is another way of talking about lying and stealing others power. Had a girlfriend that said lying stole others power. I've always thought about that.

I read an article about how a juror was excused because they admitted they couldn't be impartial in the Trump trial. (source

Might have been trying to get off the jury. When I tried to get off the jury, the judge wasn't so sympathetic. I told her I was a teacher and looked at people and could tell if they're guilty or not and the guy was guilty. I could tell by looking at him. (He did look guilty and sheepish, honestly) That excused me from that trial, but not jury duty. Still had to do another day, but they sent me home because there were no other trials that day.

I honest think a MAGA wouldn't admit to that. Nothing is unfair, lying is fine.

I was wondering what liberals should politicize in reality and deny. There are people who deny that birds exist. I think that's more of a lark.

Republicans don't exist, that's what we should deny. Pretend to not see Republicans. The ultimate canceling, Republican blind. The problem with that is that Republicans do exist, and they are the biggest threat to our society right now. They want a kakocracy.

Conservatives and progressives get under each other's skin. They misread each other. The New York Post really gets under my skin. They play politics to reduce government. They press the conservative hot buttons like imagined crime issues. I get lost in their dissembling. What they think seems to matter... People are dying, democracy is endangered. MAGA seems to get glee from annoying progressives, that is their only goal, nothing else. I really try to see past their antics, to their wishes. It's really weird dynamic and I'm trying to transcend it. Trying to see past the internecine conflict to what is right for America given that we have conservatives and progressives. Progressives can't get everything they want, they have to pick and choose. Conservatives will never shrink the government the way they want to and that's a constant thorn in their side.

The charge that democrats are not tough on crime is false, they just have a more complex view of it. Decrease income disparity and crime goes down. Make abortion legal and crime goes down. You think pumping more money into police stops crime? It's just makes tougher gangs, the cops are the toughest gang. More cop crime. Increase spending in education and transportation and infrastructure erases some of the discontent that fosters crime. The crime in America are that women who have dead babies inside them have to travel to other places to get abortions. The crimes of corporations go unpunished. The crime of rich people's tax evasion goes unpunished. The right fears the crippling of the alpha male, imagining they're really alpha males, playing into grandiosity. Appealing to weakness and pathology in populist moves for your ends is commonplace, and pretty dastardly. The only sense that Republicans are better on crime is that that is one of the myriad red herrings and strawman they use to obstruct and distract, irrelevant culture wars and dada.

Democracy or democrazy?

Admittedly the choice between corrupt democrats and corrupt republicans isn't the political choice I want. I'd rather vote my way towards fairness, elimination of poverty, anti-trust laws that fight the consolidation of corporations (you read about grocery stores lately?), education, infrastructure. What you do get is a vote for democrats that vote to end rail strikes ( source ) because they can't carve out of the profits a sick leave, versus reality denying, Russian bought, obstructionists who might lower taxes, and want smaller government. The Ron Swanson's of the world who hate government and work in government. I've been running into people who believe the corrupt choices aren't worth even making. Reasons not to pay attention.I've thought that a few times in my life, but I don't think that now.  There are real choices about health care for women, and even just an attitude towards democracy. It's hard to fight past the rhetoric, and understand eve

You couldn't have a better title to a memoir in these times. You can read about Humbert Humbert, and other male narratives, but the female narrative of the statutory rape is fulfilled by this book. I feel slightly ill while reading this book. What she goes through is off, and it's hard to put a finger on it besides  Hebephilia . All the collaborating details from her mother, to her doctors, to her father. Vanessa Springora will be remembered for other things, she is a director and a publisher. I'm not sure if  Gabriel Matzneff will be remembered for other things. At least not on this side of the pond. I do have a kind of jealousy for the appreciation of the intellectual life in France.  Matzneff cites Lewis Carroll , and others as having the appreciation for youth. I read his Wikipedia page. That led to other questions about photographers who take pictures of their children. That led me down a creepy path. As much as Springora tries to not make it sexy, I wonder how many
