It's so much easier to point out the other's inevitable contradictions.

One article today in the NY Post is about how the new incoming mayor Eric Adams can ignore teachers and the anti-cop people.

Adams will be the next mayor if he can beat the Republican challenger Curtis Sliwa in a primarily democratic city, where there is no succession from NYC to draw out the conservative Staten Island voters--the way Giuliani got into office. Giuliani's mayoral being is credited with those who don't want to be New Yorkers.

Another article is about what a hypocrite Obama is to have people flying in for his birthday party, and nobody wore masks. It's pretty hard to beat the height of Republican hypocrisy where you're against something until it somehow affects you personally, and then you flip flop.

My thought is first of all, you can't use our values against us. Catholics don't really care how hypocritical they seem, their line of authority goes through the priests. What do they think? They don't really care what some non-believer thinks.

My second thought is--yea, being a hypocrite is a bad thing in the democratic party, so it is actually something to worry about. It's the republican party who feels they can dismiss outsider viewpoints and they don't have to be coherent. It's the inclusive woke agenda that they rebel against. They want to ignore the chattering voices of awareness. So actually it is an issue. And we can talk about it because our party is about democracy and not just a power grab to enrich ourselves and obstruct the other side. There's actually a desire to do something.

Never mind that the Post is invested in creating a swirl of chaos so that you say fuck it, I'll just be selfish, because they hope to convert more sheeple, covidiots and spreadnecks hop on board their ship of fools. Under it there is a contradiction that individual liberties are important, and the unpopular choice by leaders is sometimes necessary. It's so much easier to point out the other's inevitable contradictions in trying to do something.

Honestly don't like to link the NY Post and give their unpopular views attention. I'm done giving these carnival barkers attention.

Manet and Degas

Brilliant video explaining the exhibit. Go to the Met and see the exhibit! It's really quite special.  In the last gallery the painting this sketch is based off of, of the execution of a Mexican president. The painting has been cut into sections, and the surviving Degas has reassembled them. NY Times review

AOC

Dark Brandon meet Dark Alex. I see her advising the republicans to stick to their guns and never compromise. They don’t want to do anything, only obstruct. So they don’t actually need to be unified. Chaos isn’t organized. This is fine. Read all about it from Heather Cox Richardson , a historian who covers current events. "As their policies threatened to lose voters by concentrating wealth upward and hollowing out the middle class, Republicans increasingly warned that minority voters wanted socialism and were destroying the nation to get it. Trump rode that narrative to power, and now tearing down the current government is the idea that drives the Republican base." While we're at it, here's another funny photo from the Onion: And then: I listened to the Times podcast about George Santos . He basically lied about, I don't know, 80% of his resume, and has a mysterious $700k in his "corporation" which has no clients. So he's a Russian or Chinese plant, o...
